Our 2017 So Far - May

Stumbled across this field trip photo of my 2nd grade trip to the capitol.

Chaperones: Mrs. Earl, Mrs. White, Mrs. Campbell
Back row: Holly Bell, Abi Hunt, Ginny Offi, Dawn Washburn, William Campbell, Shanna Holt
Front row: Little me, Mei Ling, Jared Moon, Greg White, Sarah Smith, Amy Reeves
A sweet letter I found that Grandma wrote to me when David and I first got married.  It's full of all kinds of wife tips.
Now that we got the couch and other furniture out of the storage shed, David set up his desk so he could have a somewhat functional office.  Yes, in the storage shed.  Because we still have a tiny house. (Making it work.)
Some artwork by Rebekah
Bekah started working on this piece. And then I realized that it was an abstract version of Van Gogh's Starry Night!  How cool!
I was able to celebrate my friend, Kristy's birthday.
Lydia went to the youth group school's-out luau.
Bekah made this cool door art for us from book pages.
When we were getting photos of the girls, we grabbed a quick one with Thomas.
And something that's been making us laugh.

Bekah's Larger-Than-Life Art Project

Bekah's been working with her friend Isabelle on this art piece at school for a while.  She's has sent me photos of the progress along the way.  But seriously, this painting is huge and it's taking them FOREVER!!
I know she gets this from me.  A larger-than-life project - but it has to be perfect - so it takes forever and then no one has anywhere to put it when it's complete.

But I love the art.  The finished product is soo perfect!

Our 2017 So Far - April

Here's a quick rundown of our 2017 so far:

Rebekah applied for Columbia State Community College for dual enrollment classes.  Yes, she applied TO COLLEGE!
We took this cute picture, so it needed a place here on my blog.

Bekah went on her first date.  It was a double date.  And we went to a movie in the same theater so we could be close by (and give her a ride...since we still aren't comfortable with her being in the car with new drivers).
Mom sent me this text asking David to download Grandma's favorite son for the funeral, and she got her caps lock turned on my accident, and it just made me laugh so hard.  I love watching my mom struggle with technology.
Chloe Cave did a presentation on David's missions for her school project.
Since Bekah hasn't taken the SAT yet, she had to take a placement exam at the college.  She totally aced the exam! (Of course!)
Bekah sang on the youth worship team again.
There was a scary incident with the police while Lydia and David were out at dinner.  I got this scary text from David (but also reassuring me that he did not jump into the fray on this one...like when he ran into a burning building!).

I later found the story online, and later, when we were in the area again, we saw the bullet hole in the shop window!

Bekah got to celebrate her friend Savannah's birthday.  Her parents arranged for her to spend time with different friends in two hour blocks all day. What a fun idea!

And Bekah got to celebrate Rachel's birthday with her.  She chose to invite some friends for dinner and a photoshoot in downtown Franklin.

Lydia's 8th Grade Formal

Tonight was Lydia's 8th Grade Formal.
She found the absolute most perfect dress for a steal.  She's positively glowing!!
After a couple of model poses in the backyard, we got a quick pic with Dad inside.
And then I had to get a few more photos, because she's just so gorgeous!
And then I drove her to the formal...and she got copious amounts of glitter all over the passenger seat of my car!

But that's okay! It's worth it!  Ha ha!
