Guess what? We saw Rock City!! And I'm finally getting a chance to blog about it. =)
I think we've done just about everything there is to do in Chattanooga. But we hadn't taken the girls to see Rock City because we didn't think it would be that much fun. David and I went on our honeymoon and weren't that impressed. But we were looking for something to do and this was all that was left.
So we took a chance and made our way over to Lookout Mountain to SEE ROCK CITY!!

Unfortunately, David had a MAJOR allergy attack right before we went. That, combined with the allergy medicine he took, made him a little bleary-eyed. But we still enjoyed our family time just the same.
Now, I have to tell you, that we had just left Cracker Barrel when we came to Rock City, so the girls each had a candy stick. Bekah thought it was super cute to try to lick her candy stick in between the photos I was taking. As you can see, she wasn't always successful in getting her tastes of candy BETWEEN my shots!
We made our way through the Grand Corridor. And under a really cool stone bridge.
The gardens were really pretty. Rebekah liked learning about all the plants. And there were some really cool rock formations, like this mushroom rock.
As we checked everything out, I must admit that this was much more than I remember seeing when we came to Rock City 17 years ago.
It was really pretty, and when we got to the lookout, the views were spectacular.
I tried to get a picture of these three with the beautiful view, but you can see how that turned out. LOL!!
We got to the top where you could "See Seven States." Bekah liked hopping on all the states. David and I have a picture like this from our honeymoon. I'll have to dig it out of storage. Because, you know. It was 17 years ago...in the ancient days...before digital photos. =)
I thought that after we saw the views, that we were pretty much done with Rock City. We followed the path on the way out. But I was pleasantly surprised that there was quite a bit more.
Like Fat Man's Squeeze. That was a fun one! =)

We spotted several gnomes throughout the rock gardens. And we came to this bridge overlook where they had a deer "zoo" you could look down on.
Here's Lydia with a deer below her. And Bekah with a deer below her as well. (Please ignore the candy wrapper in her mouth!! Sheesh!)
Then, we came around the corner to this! Lover's Leap.
Can you spot the girls and me at the overlook?
The waterfall was really beautiful.
As we made our way down, we found a few other little fun alcoves.
And then we stumbled into Fairyland Caverns. The girls really had a blast in here.
The had tons of scenes from fairy tales and nursery rhymes. They had everything under black lights and David had to wait outside because black lights and allergy medicine just don't mix. (Poor guy!)
And I'll have you know that Rebekah read every. single. nursery. rhyme. on every. single. plaque through the whole area!
Once we were done with Fairyland Caverns, we were back out in the daylight again, where everyone could see clearly. And then it was on to the gift shop, of course!
Don't tell anyone, but I took a couple of gnomes home with me!!
