A visit with Rachel

While we were at Grandma's we got the added treat of getting to see my cousin's daughter, Rachel. The girls were SO excited. Grandma kept telling them that Rachel couldn't be in two places at once! It was fun to see them so excited. They all got along really great.
I won't bore you with words to go with the pictures. They are pretty self - explanatory!

Growing hair

Rebekah has been talking about her little person that has been growing grass hair in her classroom. We thought they must have a Chia Pet or something. Well, she brought this home on Tuesday. Isn't it so cute? I just love the projects they do in her class. =)

Celtic Woman

On Saturday night, we went with some friends from work to see the Celtic Woman show that was at TPAC. It was really wonderful. Their stage was beautiful, the drums were awesome, the fiddle player (a little blonde) was fantastic and the singing was phenomenal. It was a really fun date.

Trip to GG's

We got to visit my grandma this weekend (GG to the girls). I guess it's been over a year since we've been there. I can't remember now. But it was so nice to go visit. The girls had a blast.

Lydia loves her GG. She loves to just cuddle with her and let her scratch her back. It’s amazing, because Lydia won’t do that with anyone else. Grandma was a good sport to put up with Lydia climbing all over her---all knees and elbows.

They even went outside to go pick up sticks out of Grandma's yard. Of course I took my camera along to catch a few cute pictures. =) Here are a few of the best ones!! (Lydia kept picking Grandma's daffodils!! Eeek!)

Grandma got the girls some coloring books, crayons and markers. They just colored the day away. Lydia insisted that she was doing her homework. Here she is hard a work. I can’t tell you how many times she knocked the phone base off the desk!

Every time we go to GG’s, the girls love for Grandma to wind the mechanical bird she has hanging in her living room. This bird was my great-grandmothers and I always loved it as a child as well. It’s neat to see the girls get a kick out of it too.

(Also, as a side note, I caught Rebekah trying to catch the pendulum of the wall clock while it was swinging. I later saw that Grandma had to reset it. I guess the temptation was just too much for Rebekah. I know that it always was for me. I always thought that maybe, just maybe, I could just touch it and it would just keep swinging---but I always bumped it off its course so that Grandma had to wind it again. )

Lydia was so busy the whole time we were there. I think just watching her run everywhere wore Grandma out! She was full speed anywhere we were!!
And Grandma got the girls some Easter eggs with candy and gum inside. Lydia had all of her gum chewed by the middle of the next day. Grandma bought another pack of gum because they liked it so much!!

And of course no trip is complete without checking out the eggs that my great-grandmother made. Grandma only sets them out at Easter, but I get them out of their drawers every time I go visit. I love looking at all the detail she put into them. She hand-painted all of them and made the little hats, and bunny ears and all of the other little details. Some of them have fallen off of the bunnies now, but she even put whiskers on them!!

This one is my favorite.

Fun with the girls

David snapped these for me the other day at the park. The girls and I were wearing our hair the same, so I wanted a picture!

More St. Patrick's Day fun

We took a bazillion pictures at the St. Patrick's Day celebration---to many to fit in one post. So I've been spreading the pictures out over several posts...

This guy dresses up for any event in Franklin. This time, he was a leprechaun.

Here is Lydia enjoying the dancers.

At the end of their performance, the dancers invited people from the audience up on stage. Both of the girls were happy to go (and David even got pulled up on stage!!). Here they are doing their dance.
And here's Lydia with the girls that she danced with.
And here are Lydia, Rebekah and Mercey dancing on the stage when it was all over.

Here's Lydia "changing her shoes" on the back of the stage (like the dancers did).
