Football on Labor Day

I know that Labor Day was forever a long time ago...but please at least give me credit for posting these before the end of September!!

Here are some pics of the kiddos "playing football" on Labor Day at the Greens' house.

They don't actually know how to play. They just chased down the person who had the ball and wrestled the ball away from him/her.

It was hilarious...actually.

With only a few hurt feelings.

Blah blah blah...I'm boring...so here's a layout

Not a whole lot going on in the Christopher household this week.

Homework, work, baths, groceries, friends, etc. Just regular, regular. This blog is feeling a bit neglected. Soooo, here are a couple of layouts from long ago. Ha ha!

Mismatch/Crazy Hat Day

Today was "Mismatch Day" and "Crazy Hat Day" at the girls' school. (It's Spirit Week.)

Or, as the girls have been calling it: Mitchmatch Day.

So, this morning, they got all decked out in their mismatched glory:

Lydia with a braid and a curly bun. Bekah with a pony tail and a braid.

.
Both with two different earrings. They picked out what they thought didn't match very well. Lydia's is much worse than Bekah's. Ha ha!
.
And then two different socks. Lydia even threw a snowman sock in there...
.
And two different tennis shoes.

And we can't forget about the crazy hats! Here's a photo of that!

U2 concert

I've only got one photo memory card with me today, so these don't span the WHOLE concert...just the end...but here are some pictures from the U2 concert we just went to.

No explanation really necessary. Just four guys playing music and singing while 65,000 fans yell and sing along. (Yeah, it was a little crowded!!)

Lydia's happy birthday song

Chicago!!!

Okay...so I've been expressly forbidden to post U2 photos until David gets to go through, delete, edit and post them...
So, until then, here are some pics from our brief trip to Chicago with our good friends, Michael and Kathy.
We completely wore out our feet on Saturday trekking all over the city. We had a lot of fun and got to see the things we wanted to see.
Our first stop was the Celtic festival...something David really wanted to check out. (What a lucky - no pun intended - coincidence that there was a Celtic festival going on the same weekend we were in Chicago to see U2.)
After checking that out, we hopped over to "The Bean" which is what I really wanted to check out. (Here is a pic of the four of us reflected in the bean. Can you find us??) It's just a giant reflective sculpture of a bean.
Seriously.
That's all it is.
And then there were these cool fountains. They are video walls of faces that blink and smile at you. Then all of the sudden, they start spitting water out at you.
Pretty cool.
Then we walked all over Chicago just checking out the city. (This is what Michael wanted to do.) There's tons of cool architecture.
Then, to top off the evening, we headed over to the Navy Pier (what Kathy wanted to do)
and ate at Bubba Gump's.
It was really great!
And, what the heck! There
was a ferris wheel right there...
so why not hop on it!?
So, that's about it for Chicago...the entire next day we were there was spent waiting in line to get great seats at the U2 concert (in which we were very successful!!). I'll post some pics from that when I can.

U2 - and a layout

When I get the chance, I will post some pictures from our trip to Chicago and the U2 concert.

.

In the meantime, know that we had a great time and the 11 hour wait was worth it for the spot we got at the concert.
.

We made it to the inner circle. We got smack in center stage, at the back of the inner circle, so that we could be close to the pathways that run behind it.
.

Totally worth it for the shots that we got.

.

Here's the stage and how PACKED the stadium was (and thus why we had to get their early to get a good spot).

.

And here's a view of where we were (see the white circle). We were right next to the walkway where the band members walked all through the concert...and still REALLY close to the front of the stage. I preferred where we were because no one was shoving us from the back to try to get closer to the stage.
Here's another view of where we were. This is a view from the back of the stage.

.

So, until I can post OUR pictures of the concert, here's a layout. *grin*

Scenes from Cassidy's Party

Our neighbor across the street, Cassidy, turned seven and had a big Hannah Montana party, complete with two inflatables.

She had a regular bouncy house.

And a slip and slide bouncy house. (Guess which one got used the most!!)

Unfortunately, one little girl lost a tooth when she jumped up and caught it on this net!

Here are some scenes from the fun!

Lydia losing her first tooth (video)

Lydia's prayer tonight:

Dear God, Thank you so much for my losing two teeth tonight.
And thank you for Daddy for pulling my teeth.
And thank you for my sister for giving me the information about what it feels like.
And thank you for my mommy for taking pictures and helping me call everyone on the phone.

Lydia lost a tooth...and then one more!

Soooo...

Lydia's had four loose teeth for several weeks.

Tonight is the night that she decided that the loosest one needed to come out. It took Daddy two tries, but it popped right out the second time!
.
.
Lydia was so excited!
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

Now, see this picture?

I'm sure you're thinking, "Why Jayna, you just told us that David pulled out the tooth...so why aren't you showing Lydia grinning with a hole in her grin? Why are you showing us another picture of David pulling Lydia's tooth?"

.
Because Lydia and Daddy decided that another tooth needed to come out tonight.
.
Nope. Can't just do it the regular way.
.
When Lydia's involved, it's over the TOP!
.
Soooo, tooth #2 popped out shortly after tooth #1!
.
She could not have been more thrilled!!
.
Now the Tooth Fairy needs to bring a little extra in her money bag tonight!!
